The Bakke Group was formed in 2002 in order to provide and manage a comprehensive inventory of exclusively listed NNN properties for sale across the United States using the Marcus & Millichap proven platform. It is our mission to maximize returns for clients, while providing the best possible service in all aspects of the real estate transaction.

Shawn Bakke

Shawn Bakke, head of The Bakke Group, is Director of the Net Leased Properties Group and the National Retail Group with Marcus and Millichap. Mr. Bakke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California and in 1987 attended Cambridge University in England. Mr. Bakke specializes in the sale of Single Tenant Retail properties. In the past two years he has participated in over $300 million dollars in real estate transactions. A partial list of sold properties include: KFC, Taco Bell, El Pollo Loco, Black Angus, Big Boy, Fatz Cafe, McDonald's, TGI Friday's, Tommy's Original Hamburgers, Denny's, Coco's, Carrow's, Marie Callender's, Jack in the Box, Acapulco's, Walgreens, Wendy's, Borders Books, Fazoli's, Advance Auto, Golden Corral, Pizza Hut, A & W Restaurant's, Long John Silver's, Seven Eleven, Hollywood Video, Burger King, Hardee's, AutoZone, Staples, Lone Star Steakhouse, and Church's Chicken.  

Prior to joining Marcus and Millichap, Shawn was a successful Investment Advisor at Barons Worldwide Trading, specializing in interest rate derivatives where he displayed an intimate knowledge of Treasury Yields and their effect upon the economy and commercial real estate. With his strong background in Real Estate Finance and his own business retail involvement, Shawn brings a unique perspective to Retail Investment Real Estate. He is a current member of The International Council of Shopping Center Owners (ICSC).

Sumner Hollingsworth

Sumner Hollingsworth is an Associate of the Net Leased Properties Group with Marcus & Millichap. He specializes in structuring streamlined sale-leaseback programs and business sales for clients for both portfolio and individual assets. Sumner's dedication and work ethic as well as his ability to understand and cater to owners needs, makes him a valued resource to The Bakke Group.

Sumner received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and holds a real estate brokerage license in the state of California. Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Hollingsworth was responsible for the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate as an Associate for ReMax Commercial. In this capacity, Mr. Hollingsworth was responsible for originating underwriting and closing on over $40,000,000 in commercial real estate investment sales.

Cari Espinosa

Cari came to The Bakke Group in 2005 with a background in residential real estate. Since then, Cari's real estate knowledge has expanded to include commercial real estate. With over seven years of Escrow Management, Market Research and Marketing experience in both commercial and residential real estate, her knowledge and background have proven to be a valuable asset to The Bakke Group. Since joining The Bakke Group, Cari's primary responsibilities have been managing the due diligence and closing process, which often includes acting as the first point of contact for buyers, sellers, their legal counsel, lenders, and escrow agents. Her other responsibilities include property/market research and analysis, responding to property inquiries, and development and distribution of The Bakke Group's marketing tools and materials.
